Although Juniper Tar is located on 244 W. Houston Street in downtown San Antonio, it feels as though it came from a distant land. Unlike any other bar in the city, Juniper Tar captures the beauty of mixology and vintage decor. A ladder rests alongside the numerous bottles of unique liquors and vintage Playboy magazines sit on a side table. Yup, this isn’t your regular bar.
Juniper Tar reopened January 2016 with some new guidelines to make the bar a more inviting location – no dress code and affordable drinks. While we love to dress up as much as the next person, we’re thrilled that there will no longer be a dress code and our wallets are very, very happy about the new drink prices! House drinks start at $6.50. Juniper Tar’s new hours are Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Ben Krick, one of the owners of Juniper Tar, has travelled all over the world and uses his wanderlust to put a unique touch to every drink creation. Next time you find yourself in need of a stiff drink in a gorgeous atmosphere, come check out Juniper!
