Last week Jacqueline and I treated ourselves to a spa day at San Antonio’s newest wellness spot – Hiatus Spa + Retreat. Located inside Pearl (across from Larder’s back patio), the 5,000-square-foot day spa takes a personalized approach to wellness and promotes regular relaxation as an empowering part of a healthy, happy lifestyle. As someone who’s made a conscious effort to integrate massages and facials into my monthly schedule, I was excited to check out a potential new sanctuary.

Before your treatment begins you will need to fill out a couple forms, as is the procedure with most spa and wellness centers. However, Hiatus is the first spa I have been to that includes a form asking about your emotional wellbeing. I love this and believe the spa’s desire for a deeper emotional connection between client and customer can only enhance all spa treatments. Also, while I was filling out my information one of the Hiatus team members offered me a hot cup of tea. Within five minutes I was already feeling the stresses of the day melt to the ground.

Check out all fifty-plus signature treatments here.
