One of our favorite Pearl restaurants is now open for brunch. Since opening in July 2016, Botika has been taming our cravings for sushi and custom cocktails. Recently Botika opened its door on Sunday for its latest culinary concept – Dim Sum Brunch.

We’re going to start with our favorite for a change. Botika’s fried chicken and waffles in unlike any other dish in SA. The “Kaarage” Japanese style chicken is served on top of quinoa waffles and spiced syrup. As someone who reaches for the most sugar-filled item on a menu, I was a bit skeptical to try quinoa waffles with spiced syrup, but Botika did not disappoint.

Next up was the “Butifarra” roasted pork sandwich. Roasted pork loin, huancaina sauce and salsa criolla come together on a brioche bun with a side of yucca fries (aka some of the best fries ever).

When I saw tostones – twice-fried plantain slices – on the menu, I had to order them. While I’m more accustomed to sweet tostones (naturally), Botika served its tostones with avocado and salsa criolla. For only $5, I would definitely recommend trying them out.

Other brunch items include Sunday ceviche, steak and eggs, and Nutella waffles for dessert (or for the main course). Botika is open for brunch on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
