Get ready to experience three days of the funniest LATINX comics from across the country starting this Friday, February 21st! Hosted by Anjelah Johnson, HA Comedy Fest, presented by AT&T and also sponsored by Target, is in its inaugural year, making history as the largest Latinx comedy festival in the world. Immerse yourself into three days of nonstop comedy during 20+ shows at the hottest locations in the downtown area including the Empire Theatre, The Stable at the Pearl, The St. Anthony, and LOL Comedy Club. Check out just one show, or buy tickets to them all.

The first night of HA Comedy Fest kicks off with The Fresh Faces of Comedy, featuring hot up + coming comedians and hosted by Emilio Rivera from hit TV show MAYANS. The laughter continues with Comedy Chingonas – nine hysterically talented women will paint a funny self-portrait of their lives. Both shows will be at the Empire Theatre on Friday night. There will be other shows throughout the evening as well – some featuring local comedians! – at the Pearl Stable,  the St. Anthony Hotel and LOL Comedy Club.

There’s even a movie premiere taking place and it’s completely FREE to attend, just register at hacomedyfest.com to reserve your seat. The film, Witness Infection, is a comedy horror/feature from comedians Carlos Alazraqui and Jill-Michele Meleán, both performing standup throughout the weekend as well. Think “Shaun of the Dead” meets “Goodfellas” where a mob boss’ son finds his way out of an arranged marriage with a little help from his friends…oh, and the apocalypse. Zombies + mobsters—hilarity ensues!

HA Comedy Fest continues on Saturday, February 22nd with Prinze, a breakthrough one-man show. Fresh from his off-Broadway run and PBS special, Jose Sonera’s Prinze celebrates the life of Freddie Prinze, and is a true piece of art to be enjoyed. Also on the one-man show end of things that evening, LA Weekly Theater Award Nominee and two-time United Solo Award winner Antonio Sacre will bring his theatrical and comical artistry to the stage with Let Them Eat Meat at the Pearl Stable.

For those looking to see an array of ridiculously funny people on Saturday, check out the Funny is Funny show at the Empire Theatre. Hosted by well-known New York comedian Mark Viera, it features names like Jesus Trejo, Carlos Alazraqui, Gene Pompa, Orlando Leyba, Chris “Crazy Legs” Fonseca and the hilarious comics from San Antonio’s award-winning comedy troupe Comedia A Go-Go.

There are seven different shows, all offering exciting lineups, on Saturday alone! Check out the rest of the Saturday night lineup here.

Before the HA SPECIAL (TV Taping), enjoy Love, Lust and Lunacy. Comedian and talkshow host Debi Gutierrez delivers the naked truth about relationships in the funniest, most honest and blame-free comedy show about relationships to come along in a long time.

Make sure to also check out Comedy Patriots, happening at the Pearl Stable. It features three fantastic headliners who are all prior military and is completely FREE for military families to attend. Register or purchase your tickets here.

The biggest night of HA Comedy Fest is definitely Sunday, February 23rd when Anjelah Johnson hosts the HA SPECIAL (TV Taping) at the Empire Theatre. There are two chances to catch this show – 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 8 to 9:30 p.m. Get ready to see an all-star packed lineup of comedians and celebrities all on one stage! Experience it live and then watch it streaming.
