If your food looks beautiful and didn’t get posted to Instagram, did it even exist?

We are all guilty of snapping pictures of our food and putting them on Instagram; the picture-based social media platform has quickly become a resource to discover new places to eat, so we went on a quest (hard, but someone has to do it) to find the 5 most Instagram-worthy treats in San Antonio.

If any dessert is having a moment on Instagram right now, it’s hand-rolled-Thai ice cream. Fahrenheit 32 has taken on the Alamo City, opening their doors at 226 W Bitters Road. Although it may have been a challenge to pick just two ice creams—because restraint, right— “The Boy Scout” brings campfire nostalgia. For personalization, consider switching up the toppings when your name is called to the topping station, or completely build your own flavor combination from the prompts on their menu.

Open only since May, Bubble Waffle Bar has built up quite the following—and for good reason. The creative dessert shop allows you to build your own bubble waffle; choose 1 of 5 waffle flavors, a scoop of your favorite ice cream, then get colorful or chocolatey with your toppings. We tried a red velvet bubble waffle with ube ice cream, topped with Japanese mochi, gummy bears and Pocky stix. From Dragons Breath to all the bubble waffle combinations of your wildest dreams, you can get your fix at 7755 Eckhert Road. It’s more than just a good picture.

Embrace the donut! The Art of Donut, residing at 3428 N. St Mary’s Street, specializes in gorgeous, handmade donuts. Step back into your childhood with their colorful Cereal Milks. Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms and Cap’n Crunch, prepare for a sugar rush. Tip: Pair your drink with the matching donut for a picture-perfect treat. Stop by the craft donut bar earlier in the day; they are open until 3 p.m. or sell out.

Fact. Chocollazo is a chocolate lover’s dream come true. Located at 4310 Broadway, the well-decorated dessert shop is only outshined by the beauty of its products. Looking for a fine sundae? Try their Chocolate Chip Oreo Brownie, topped with ice cream of your choice, homemade marshmallow fluff and torched for optimal toasty-ness. Pictures of gooey chocolate and toasted marshmallows are sure to get your followers’ mouths watering. The shape of the sundae-topping graham cracker even changes with the seasons!

Step away from your fridge and head over to Scooped Cookie Dough Bar; everyone’s guilty pleasure comes to San Antonio. Officially opening October 27 at North Star Mall, Scooped brings a flavorful menu of safe-to-eat raw cookie dough. Pictured above is a seasonal flavor, Pumpkin Pie Spice and White Chocolate Chip. Don’t forget to top it off with ginger snap crumbs for a full-blown fall-vibes foodie picture.
