Pig Pen
The newest, hip place to be during the weekend is the Pig Pen Neighborhood Bar, located on Broadway right behind Smoke Shack (we’ll be visiting there soon, too!). The owner of both restaurants, Chris Conger, opened the bar back in December and it’s already deemed the neighborhood bar.

IMG_8894IMG_8906The Pig Pen hosts a warm, rustic inside bar with tables and a stage for local performers. You can check its online schedule for performer dates and times here. Outside you’ll find a playful outside bar with patio seating and a playground. Yes, a playground! This is better than hiring a babysitter. Take your kids to Pig Pen where they can play on the jungle-gym and you can have a drink.

IMG_8901Speaking of drinks, they have a killer Bloody Mary garnished with olives and a thick slice of brisket. The brisket used in Pig Pen’s Bloody Mary and its brisket nachos is from its neighboring restaurant, The Smoke Shack.

Head over to Pig Pen any day of the week for a whole new experience on outside bars, and remember, it’s kid-friendly!
