TheLuxury-001 Looking for a place to eat with good food, a cool vibe, and a view of the river? The Luxury, located just past the Pearl at 103 East Jones Avenue, has officially reopened and definitely did not disappoint. Jacqueline and I stopped by to see the new and improved outdoor space, but to also make sure the food was just as good as before the renovations. Well, it is safe to say that we will be going back soon!
TheLuxury-002 A major perk of The Luxury is its wide variety of food choices which can please even the pickiest eaters. I tried a salad called The Cargo, which featured romaine lettuce, toasted pepita, pickled onions, a variety of herbs, and a few other toppings that made it extremely filling. Jacqueline tried the chicken curry sandwich which was topped with golden raisins, celery, and onions. Both dishes were satisfying and delicious. Others around us were raving about the double blanched french fries and salted caramel pudding, two items I know I will have to try. If that doesn’t get your mouth watering I don’t know what will!
TheLuxury-003 If you need a drink to pair with your meal or just for sipping, this beer garden has over 175 craft beers and wine. One drink that seemed to be a quick crowd pleaser was the frozen sangria, which will be refreshing during the summer months.
TheLuxury-004 The space is on the industrial side and offers a great view looking right over the river. In fact, there is even an entrance from the walkway along the river that I would recommend utilizing if you get a little thirsty or hungry on your walk, ride, or run. My favorite features were the two-seater swings with the best view, and the thoughtfully placed finishing touches, like the Edison bulbs that were illuminating the space and the variety of succulents. They also had an area to play bocce ball and plenty of space to move around.

The next time you are downtown walking along the river or simply feel like grabbing a bite to eat, make sure you stop by The Luxury. Open from 11 am to 9 pm Tuesday through Thursday, 11 am to 10 pm Friday and Saturday, and 12 pm to 9 pm. on Sundays, there are plenty of chances for you to visit. This old favorite might look a little different from your last visit, but I think it’s a welcome change that most certainly will keep you coming back for more.
