When we were approached to partner with Global Purpose, an ethical sourcing company helping brands find ways to operate more sustainably and humanely, we didn’t hesitate to jump onboard. This purposeful company provides education and income opportunities for women and children living in vulnerable communities, including India, Haiti, and Uganda. Global Purpose features many brands including Village Artisan which can be found at our local HEBs!

I have to admit I never considered shopping for jewelry or apparel at HEB, but then I found the right section. Nestled in the HEB Blooms department was this Village Artisan’s turquoise blue Freedom Shrug. Right next to it were rows of gorgeous jewelry, each piece handmade by women in India being paid a living wage to support their families.

Instantly I was drawn to the wooden choker and matching earrings. I know I have numerous spring maxi dresses that will be completed with these pieces.

Global Purpose was founded as a social enterprise and created to connect purchases and positive change in impactful ways. The influential company is owned and operated by Kaylynn Jordan and her husband, Jon Jordan. Kaylynn, originally from West Texas, currently resides in Arkansas when her and Jon are not globe-trotting.

You can find the Made in the Shade jewelry collection and Freedom Shrugs at HEB Bloom departments. To learn more about Global Purpose and to read about some of the amazing women who help make the brand possible, click here.
