From the minds of Indy Coffee Club and Temple of Offering comes Scorpion, an all day Peruvian tapas cafe. Scorpion’s shareable plates are inspired by the topography and iconography of Peru and developed by Chef Kenny Loo.

Located on the Eastside of San Antonio at 125 Lamar Street, Scorpion is the epitome of that natural, minimalist aesthetic that I love. Along with featuring Peruvian tapas, Scorpion also serves specialty coffee. If you’ve been to Indy, you know the coffee is incredible! Ah, I could go for a mug now.

Scorpion features three different menus throughout the day — morning service, para picar, and dinner service which is available by reservation only. So far I have only enjoyed the chalaca avocado toast made with sourdough, sliced avocado, a soft egg and topped with onion, serrano, and lime relish. I must return for all three menus! As well as the breakfast menu because this was the best avo toast of my life. Also, the breakfast menu features savory empanadas with rotating seasonal ingredients!

Scorpion cafe is open for morning service Wednesday through Sunday from 9am to 2pm, para picar from 2 to 5pm, and dinner service Friday through Sunday from 6 to 10pm (don’t forget to make a reservation for dinner!).
