As the weather begins to cool, Jacqueline and I have been excited to get back outdoors. If you’ve been looking for fun reason to get outdoors, The San Antonio River Foundation (SARF) and San Antonio River Authority (SARA) have the answer.

img_20151107_094446422_hdrSARF and SARA are hosting River Relay & Get Outdoors, a thrilling and spectator-friendly event that the entire city can enjoy. This Saturday, November 5th, individuals and teams of two will compete in a kayak/run race that will allow participants to experience the Mission Reach in a unique way. The race will finish at Mission Park Pavilions where Get Outdoors, a family-friendly event offering hands-on activities by more than 30 outdoor recreation and education exhibitors, will begin at 10 a.m. Activities include rock wall, tennis, fly fishing, bean bag toss, circuit training, and more. There are several food options too, for those who work up an appetite! #yes #bbq

river32There are three ways to participate in the River Relay race! 1) An individual can choose to run the 5k land course only OR, 2) an individual can choose to kayak the 4k water course only OR, 3) a team of two can choose to split the 4k kayak and 5k run courses into a relay. Click here to register and make sure to use the code “RR16MAKEWAVES” to save 10 percent off the River Relay registration through November 4th.

We’re all about encouraging the community to get involved in outdoor recreation which is why we can’t wait to Get Outdoors! We hope to see you there!
