When Revolucion Coffee + Juice reopened at 7959 Broadway St., my mornings and afternoons changed for the better. Instead of drowning multiple cups of black coffee and munching on whatever piece of fruit was nearby, I now head to Revolucion for an ACTUAL breakfast of acai bowls, black bean tacos or tamales. Recently Revolucion expanded its menu to include more lunch options and Jacqueline and I couldn’t get there fast enough to try ’em all out.

Under all the multicolored juices at Revolucion you can now find raw bowls freshly prepared and ready to eat. Pictured above is the Green Bowl which is vegan, gluten free and delicious. Another bowl we tried was the Chickpea Quinoa Bowl. If I had to choose a favorite from the two, it would be the chickpea quinoa bowl. I can never get enough quinoa in me!

My personal favorite is the Raw Pad Thai which comes with a rainbow of fresh and crunchy veggies (edamame of course!) and a decadent – still vegan – pad Thai sauce. After eating the entire bowl, my body and mind were ready to take on the day. I felt no sense of lethargy which can be common with heavier lunch meals.

We ended our meal with a raw, vegan, gluten free and flour-less key lime pie. Perhaps it does look a bit different that your typical key lime pies, but the flavor is fully intact. One of the main reasons why I love Revolucion is their philosophy on food. I’m amazed by all the ingrideints that come together to create such a tasty but nutritious meal that’s good not only for our bodies, but for the planet. That’s a rare find in SA! The key lime pie is a combination of cold pressed lime, vanilla, spirulina, almonds, dates, cashews, himalayan mountain salt, coconut oil, coconut water and agave! Chefs are artists.
