5 Points LocalDo you ever take in the atmosphere of a location? Naturally we all do, but do you ever feel anything without having to focus on it? At 5 Points Local, the happiness from the employees and customers radiates and flows throughout the entire two-story building. Located at 1017 N. Flores St., 5 Points Local nourishes your mind and body through clean food, delicious coffee drinks, yoga and chair massages, and it shows.

5 Points LocalTwo large community tables greet you when you enter 5 Points Local and an open kitchen with tasty scents that capture you on the spot. The cafe offers indulgent, affordable and healthy menu options crafted from 100% locally sourced and gluten-free ingredients. If you’re able to get past the kitchen area, you’ll find an open space with vintage style chairs, round tables and a wooden table with the words LOCAL (perfect background for your Instagram photos!) etched into it. Upstairs is the yoga studio, patiently waiting to lift you up and take away all your worries.

5 Points Local5 Points LocalThe first time I visited 5 Points Local, I ordered an iced coffee and a sweet treat, but watching the bowls of colorful food being passed around urged me to bring Jacqueline back with me so we could indulge in all the goodness! 5 Points Local offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Jacqueline and I enjoyed the Karma Bowl composed of quinoa, roasted sweet potatoes, black beans and garden greens drizzled with 5 Local’s cashew crema. We topped of the magnificently colored dish with avocado for an additional $1! On the polar opposite side was the Man Bowl, which we had to try. Grilled flank steak strips, roasted beet and potato salad, avocado and a soft boiled egg with mixed greens. It will definitely fill you up.

5 Points LocalOther menu items include the egg-centric grilled cheese with a sunny side up free-range egg, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and sautéed spinach, the quiche of the day, and the empanada of the day. The perfectly cooked beauty above is the chicken pot pie empanada! Sweets include “Vinkies”, Vegan Twinkies, HeeHees, chocolate creme-filled cupcakes, and many others. We love the names and the fact that after you chow down on a Vinkie, you don’t walk with your head down as your stomach curses you.
