With the end of summer quickly approaching, this month should be all about trying something new. To help encourage you, I have put together a short summer checklist of places I have visited and loved this summer.

houseStarting with one that is pretty unique, The House Boozy Ice Cream and Brew is such a fun take on ice cream. For those who are 21 and up, they offer a variety of flavors that include may include whiskey or tequila and guarantee fresh ingredients. Flavors change daily, but if the Pecan Fudge is ever available while you are there I highly recommend it. They also have a glazed donut flavor that includes 12 actual donuts! Non-alcoholic flavors are also available if you are just looking for a sweet treat.

paramourI love spending time outside and tend to look for restaurants and bars that offer unique outdoor spaces. Paramour has one of the best rooftop bars that I have been to in town with plenty of space for groups. The way they have it decorated makes the space feel so cozy and the view of downtown and the Riverwalk definitely disappoint. Since Paramour also offers coffee and donuts for breakfast and a multitude of yummy drinks the rest of the day it is a can’t miss bar!

EnergryXFitnessTo balance the treats and drinks, I think finding a workout you enjoy is really important! The instructors at EnergyX Fitness have me hooked on their classes. The great thing about this studio is the variety they provide. The group atmosphere also encourages you to push yourself and the style of using water rowers and TRX bands allows you to modify the workouts for you. If you are looking to start exercising or are looking for a change, trying a new class or studio is great! I hope that you try EnergyX in Alamo Heights but with everything from cycling to barre around town there are plenty of places you can try.

DiscoveryPoint2Since I haven’t visited SeaWorld in years I was beyond excited to go try out Discovery Point and if you get a chance to go this summer, do it! Obviously I would recommend swimming with the dolphins because how many other opportunities do you have for that, but the park itself is great for all age groups.

Another thing that I love doing during the summer is taking a day or weekend trip with friends. Austin, New Braunfels, and Fredericksburg are all relatively close drives and offer tons of activities. Go paddle boarding and try a Holla Mode Thai ice cream in Austin, float the river in New Braunfels, or wine taste and pick peaches in Fredericksburg!

Whether it be spending more time outside at a park, going to a concert, grabbing a drink with friends at a new bar, or indulging with sweets, treat yo’self! Make the most of summer and let us know in the comments below where you are planning on going.
