As the Sunday sun began to creep through my window I began to daydream about what the day may bring. Instead of settling for a brunch meet up with my girl friends – which I love – I decided to try something new and head to the Kiss My Glass Etching Event thrown by Crafthouse SA, a local company who hosts interactive and edgy DIY workshops.

There’s nothing like crafting when all your materials have been set out for you! The Kiss My Glass Etching workshop took place at Nectar Wine Bar. One of the long picnic tables inside Nectar had been transformed into a DIY station and Crafthouse set out everything we needed to create trendy wine glasses. As we sat down, Victoria, the founder of Crafthouse SA, let us know that inside our bag was a drink ticket for one tasty mimosa. DIY + cocktails always equals a good time.

Don’t worry if you’re not crafty – I don’t consider myself crafty at all but I had an amazing time. Victoria and her husband and business partner, Nick, walk you through your crafting project and create an atmosphere of tranquility and excitement. Throughout my etching process Victoria assured me numerous times that I was on the right track. She could read the hesitancy on my face! Such a wonderful characteristic for a teacher.

After the glasses were etched we began creating our custom wine bag. Black and gold were the colors I chose to paint my wine bottles but you could choose from a plethora of colors and designs.

Here are my crafts in all their glory. I’m not going to go into detail on the etching process because I want you to experience it firsthand! Head to crafthousesa.com and check out the upcoming workshops including a fiesta wreath workshop and mini piñata workshop!
