Located in the Blue Star Arts Complex is one of the most unique neighborhood grocery stores San Antonio has to offer. Blue Star Provisions offers a plethora of organic produce, food, and goods. Muffins, scones, and other assorted pastries fill the display in the window next to a sign that read “Tacos are inside.” Okay, we were sold.
Blue Star Provisions opened it’s doors in July of 2015 and continues to provide Southtown San Antonio with fresh, organic and local products and foods. The neighborhood grocery store carries a variety of your everyday necessities: fresh bread, produce, eggs, meat, coffee, but also offers unique items including: organic beer soap, artisan pizzas, and freshly baked scones.
Want to take home a growler full of Blue Star Brew? No problem. You can even fill up on over a dozen of your favorite Blue Star organic craft beers, which are brewed right next store at the Blue Star Brewing Company. So many choices!
With a large variety of different drinks, Blue Star Provisions also carry cold pressed juices – “sourced from fresh fruits, veggies, herbs, and spices. no added sugar or preservatives, just pure juice!” Also, if you bring the bottle back you can get up to $1 off your next juice purchase. That’s if you can’t help but keep the slick glass bottle as a souvenir for yourself. Who could blame you?
Along with fresh breakfast tacos made daily all the pastries are made in house including: blueberry lavender scones, strawberry dark chocolate scones, blueberry green tea muffins, strawberry cheesecake muffins, assorted cookies and kolaches.
Blue Star Provisions is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They also offer a Sip and Shop grocery experience where you can sip on any beverage they have on tap while you pick some groceries! Make sure to stop by, pick up a freshly baked pastry, a breakfast taco, or a refreshing juice after your Riverwalk exploration. You deserve it!
