With clear skies almost guaranteed for the next few months, finding a place to eat that has a great outdoor space is key. To elevate your dining experience, try visiting one of these restaurants that offer a great view along with great food.
Ocho at Hotel Havana is a great choice if you are wanting to see the Riverwalk. Additionally, a glass observatory means that you can enjoy the view while avoiding the heat! The restaurant features a mix of Mexican, Cuban, and Texan influences that are highlighted in both the food and drinks. Visit Sunday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m., or Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for brunch.
Paramour, which you know is a favorite of ours if you have been following us for awhile, features a beautiful view of Downtown. Whether you are a coffee or cocktail drinker, we highly recommend that you enjoy your drink on the large patio that sits just a few floors up from the Riverwalk. Coffee and select pastries are available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The bar is open Sunday and Monday 7 a.m. to 12 a.m., 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Aldaco’s, located at 20079 Stone Oak Pkwy, has an unobstructed view of Stone Oak for those who sit out on the large patio. They claim that the patio’s breathtaking views are from the highest point in San Antonio, making for a pretty nice backdrop. The menu consists of your favorite Mexican favorites like fajitas and chile relleno enchiladas. There are also 6 gluten free options! The hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday. Daily lunch specials, a weekday happy hour, and a weekend brunch are additional perks.
Silo Terrace Oyster Bar, located in the Dominion Ridge Shopping Center, is another great choice. The second floor patio gives you a great view of the surrounding Dominion Hills. The menu features nine raw oysters along with a variety of small plates such as snapper ceviche and calamari. Continue the seafood theme with lobster ravioli or the signature chicken fried oysters as a main dish. The oyster bar is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, leaving you with plenty of time to visit! Show up for lunch, come for dinner and catch the sunset, or beat the heat and arrive late for drinks and snacks.
Housed in a building aging older than the Riverwalk itself, The Esquire Tavern boasts the longest wooden-top bar in Texas. While the extensive and very dimly lit inside attracts many tourists and natives alike, we are in love with the quaint patio that looks over the Riverwalk. Swanky cocktails, excellent food and a calming view of our city. The Esquire Tavern is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight (kitchen closes at 10 p.m.) and Thursday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. (kitchen closes at 1 a.m.).
