Twin Sisters

Twin Sisters

Let’s be real, everyone loves breakfast tacos, am I right? Especially living in San Antonio. I had never had a breakfast taco, nor even heard of such a thing, until I got to San Antonio. I believe this makes San Antonio the King of Breakfast Tacos! Or something like that. We set out to find some of the best breakfast tacos is town and the results are in!

Twin Sisters
This ain’t your average papas y huevos joint. Twin Sisiters is one of my favorites in town for brunch. Every plate that comes out of the kitchen looks delicious and looks like it was made with love (that’s just how cute this little place is). I always get the same thing every time I go – the breakfast tacos.  You can choose from a number of items to put in your tortillas and they stuff those tacos full! My go-to tacos are one with egg, tofu chorizo, and avocado and one with sweet potato and black beans, yum!  *Side note: my mom loves the salsa that is served with the tacos, it’s sweet and tangy with a little kick.

ChapalaChapala
Chapala is sort of a hidden gem on Austin Highway near Rainbow Drive and it has killer breakfast tacos.  Try a couple breakfast tacos with a glass of yummy Horchata.

Benny’s
Cheap and tasty are two of many qualities I look for in food. Benny’s, located off I-35 and Walzem, has both of these qualities. You can get two breakfast tacos for $1.50 Monday through Friday! Can you tell me a deal that’s better than that? And especially when the tortillas are still warm and the cheese is gooey and melty, you really can’t go wrong at Benny’s.

Thousand Oaks CafeThousand Oaks Cafe
Maybe it’s the tortillas, maybe it’s the salsa, maybe it’s the friendly environment? Something about Thousand Oaks’s breakfast tacos makes you keep coming back for more. And they have the best coffee in that part of the neighborhood!

Known for its breakfast tacos and the waiting-line outside the restaurant just to taste a few of them, Taco Taco definitely had to make the list. Taco Taco makes all of its ingredients in-house, hand-made, every morning, including the fluffy tortillas. The ingredients are all vegetarian, even the beans! If the tacos aren’t reason enough to visit Taco Taco, then the staff surely is. The staff treats you like family from the minute you step out of your car. The owner works every day and insists that her customers make themselves at home and enjoys the fresh tacos that they order. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to Taco Taco and not had to wait in line, but it’s so worth it!

Skip the cereal. When you wake up hungry tomorrow morning remember these bomb breakfast tacos restaurants and let us know what you think of them! We’d also love to hear what your favorite taco spots are! Share them in the comments below.
