For those of you who have been following along with us regularly, you probably already know how excited we are about the opening of the second Bakery Lorraine at 7338 Louis Pasteur Drive. Well, the wait is almost over as they will officially be open this Friday, May 27th! We were lucky enough to have a sneak peek to find out just what everyone should expect from the new location.

Bakery Lorraine EntranceIf you have been to the one at The Pearl, then you are probably just as in love as we are. From the colorful macarons to hearty sandwiches it is a great place to stop for breakfast, lunch, or to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. Chef Anne told us that customers will still see the delicious pastries they have come to expect, as well as some customer favorites like the BLT and Cuban. However, with a new Chef on board, there will also be some variations between the locations as they “revamp” the menu. Bakery Lorraine Menu One of the new items that we were able to try was the chorizo and egg sandwich placed on a buttery croissant and topped with sour cream, avocado, and cilantro. Since we wanted to have our bases covered, we also sampled the new spent grain porridge, featuring red velvet apricots, strawberries, blueberries, and toasted almonds. Other additions include a bruleed banana parfait, a golden beet salad, and a variety of sandwiches featuring lots of aioli.
Bakery Lorraine Chorizo Sandwich Of course we also had to try the pastries and coffee in order to assure you all that they contained the same flavor and quality. I am happy to report back that they exceeded my expectations! My cappuccino was the best I have had in awhile and I’m counting down the hours until I can go back for more treats. Bakery Lorraine Pastries This place is the perfect location for those who are further North and are not able to make it Downtown very often. Additionally, the layout makes it great for catching up with friends or catching up on work. Customers will also have an option for outdoor seating to enjoy, something that is a little more limited at The Pearl. The hours will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. There is potential, however, for extended hours later on to make it easier for people to stop by after work. Bakery Lorraine Outdoor Seating Whether you are a regular at Bakery Lorraine or are simply interested in finding a new spot to pick up your daily coffee, make sure you scope out the bakery’s new home.
