Tiu Steppi's ExteriorLet me start by saying that I love pasta, pizza, and wine, so when I walked up to Tiu Steppi’s and saw the sign advertising all three I knew I would be leaving happy. The Italian restaurant makes everything from bread and pasta to sauces and dessert in-house! Knowing this made me all the more excited and after trying a couple dishes Tiu Steppi’s quickly became one of my new favorite restaurants. You can try it out for yourself at 17230 Bulverde Rd. or 9910 TX-1604 Loop. Tiu Steppi's Appetizer The meal starts off with bread knots that are amazingly soft and well seasoned but if you want something else, there’s plenty to chose from. For an appetizer the Calamari and Smoked Salmon Carpaccio are two customer favorites. Additionally, the Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Di Bufala, which we tried, was delicious! It comes pan fried with Calabrian peppers and fresh sage, on top of a bed of arugula. Tiu Steppi's Chicken Piccatta Next was a personal favorite of mine and a dish Tiu Steppi’s prides itself in. The Chicken Piccatta has been altered slightly in the best way possible and features sautéed chicken in a white wine lemon butter sauce with artichokes, mushrooms, prosciutto, capers, and Cappellini pasta. Tiu Steppi's Pizza If you want a pizza, there are plenty of great options including everything from a Brie and Mushroom to Spicy BBQ Chicken. I tried the Roasted Potato which had sliced rosemary roasted potatoes, shredded mozzarella, fried sage, fresh basil, roasted garlic aioli, charred white onions, and sun dried tomatoes. Now are you starting to see why I loved this place? Tiu Steppi's Tiramisu Desserts vary daily, but if the tiramisu I tried is any indicator, you might be wanting to visit just for a sweet treat! A chocolate cappuccino mousse was also mentioned, giving me all the more reason to go back.

Visit Tiu Steppi’s between the hours of 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday or 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Also, don’t miss Tiu Steppi’s during Culinaria’s Restaurant week! They are a tier one restaurant, meaning they will be offering a special three-course menu costing $15 at lunch and $35 during dinner and part of the proceeds go to charity. Great food for a great cause!
